WotW setting

the setting of War of the world(WotW) is england about 90 years ago. you can tell this by the tenth chapter when instead of using a car to leave the town they get a horse with cart and the warning of the martians was sent by a messanger boy instead of calling on a phone.this setting i think is a good setting for the book because if you've seen the movie, the fighting in the movie is with tanks and missles and machine guns. on the book, with the time period the fighting is a more challenge.

Quarter two book report

the book i choose to read this quarter is the war of the worlds.you may think that this would be an easy assignment because they made a movie about it, but no. the movie was based on an american city in the present time, but the book was based on london maybe thirty to fifty years ago. but its a good book i'm past the part where the aliens have killed a lot of people. thats all i got.

Darren Shan

Darren Sahnn is the main character.He is a round and dynamic character.I say he's dynamic because he is never the same between chapters.Every time he goes out he's a different person.Darren is also a round character.At one point he seems like he enjoys being a half-vampire.Then BAAMMM!!!He hates being a vampire and he hates Mr. Creapsly,and he hates everyone around hiem.It's wierd.I believe that he is a confused character.His situation is so overwhelming that he can't make up his mind.Darren is also a stromg character. not only physicaly,but mentally. Whenn he goes after the wolf-man to save his friend he dosen't think of what might happen.He just goes after them, ni matter what happens to him.He is also what i like to call a shadow. he dosen't let people know what he's thinking or wants to until he is mad enough to say it.

next book

i just read a new book call tunnels of blood(also from the ccircue du freak). here darren is still getting used to being a half vampire, but likes it a little bit more than he did. one night, a vampire came to see mr.creapsly. the dude is acctualy a vampire general. he does all these missions for the vampire clan. anyways after the dude leaves mr.creapsly says they have to leave for a little while. darren is allowed to take Evera Von, the snake boy. in this book darren learns of the vampenze, vampiers that brock away from the clan and formed there own people.difference between vampires and vampeneze, vampeneze drink the human dry.darren also gets a girlfriend, but in the end has to leave her behind.sad but nessesary.

Quarter book report

the book i chose is the Curqu du freak: the vampires assistant by Darren Shan. Ive read other books by him and have to say he is a good writer. When a gory scene is introdused, he makes you feel that your there. after reading a chapter of one of the books, i was sick to my stomach: i smelled the blood, isay the the sword slicing so fast it was a blurr, i heard the battle cry as Darren Shan ran into a fight. this book is right in this catagory. Darren Shan is still getting used to being a half-vampife, yet he refuses to drink human blood and is tired of travaling with the mysterious Mr. Creapsly. so they deside to stay with the cirque du freak, a circus of amazing people with extrordinary abilities. here Darren meets Evera Von, the snake boy and become best friends. thats where i'm at right now. later i'll fill in on other stuff.
